Winter Magic Kickoff and Chili Cookoff – Chili, entertainment and lights for hours. What better way is there to start the winterfest season? River Road near the Aquarium. Admission for chili tasting.

Trolley Ride of Lights - Enjoy a guided trolley ride of the spectacular Gatlinburg Winter Magic lighting displays.  Downtown Gatlinburg.

4 – February 28

Gatlinburg Winter Magic - Listed as one of winter's "Top 20 Events" by the Southeast Tourism Society, Gatlinburg's four-month Winterfest Celebration transforms the mountain resort town of Gatlinburg into a spectacular winter wonderland from November through February. A holiday craft show, Christmas parade, Winter Magic Tunes & Tales, and the popular New Year's Ball Drop combine with millions of LED lighting displays and attractions to make Winterfest an activity filled season in Gatlinburg.

7th Annual Gatlinburg Veterans Day Celebration - 11 a.m. at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies Plaza. Activities will include a military aircraft flyover, patriotic music, and recognition of veterans in attendance, remembrance of fallen comrades, and stirring words from notable veterans.

Holiday Arts & Crafts Show - Unique handcrafted gifts made by members of Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community as they host their annual show.  Gatlinburg Convention Center.

Festival of Trees – Dozens upon dozens of ornately decorated Christmas trees await visitors to this Winter Wonderland at W. L. Mills Conference Center Tuesday through Saturday from 4 - 7pm, sponsored this year by Smoky Mountain Area Rescue Ministries. Admission is free.

"Nutcracker Sweet" - Presented by the Smoky Mountain Dance Theater Company, enjoy this holiday classic presented in Gatlinburg, with performances at 7 p.m. in the W.L. Mills Auditorium. (865) 680-7369 for information and reservations

Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade – Gatlinburg's Christmas parade showcasing more than 100 parade entries and all your favorite Christmas characters. Free to everyone.

Annual "Christmas on Ice Show" - Ober Gatlinburg Ice Skating Arena features local amateur skaters performing ice skating routines to traditional Christmas music, choreographed by rink instructor Devon Harman. Show time Saturday is 7:00p.m. and Sunday night performance begins at 5:00p.m.

New Year's Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks – The entire Space Needle tower in the center of Downtown Gatlinburg lights up for 15 minutes of fireworks. Free to everyone.
